During Open Streets in Hamilton a few inspired Conservatives asked passers-by to compliment the $1.4 billion in yearly subsidies to the fossil fuel industry with money from their own pockets.

This seemed appropriate since each of them gives about $40 a year in tax dollars anyway! Why not match the government's generous contribution? As it turns out, most Hamiltonians weren't happy with giving handouts to the wealthiest industry on the planet.

It's time for the government to keep its promise and stop giving out a massive bonus to rich oil companies that don't need it. Help us put an end to fossil fuel subsidies by sending a message to your Member of Parliament, the Finance Minister, and the Finance Critics calling on them to support the motion that could end these handouts for good.
